What is Gandhi Samaj of Houston?
Gandhi Samaj of Houston (GSOH) is a registered non-profit organisation in the State of Texas, established in 2021 to unite members of the Modh Gandhi community living in Houston and surrounding areas. We organise cultural, social, and religious events to preserve our heritage and strengthen community bonds.
Who can join Gandhi Samaj of Houston?
Gandhi Samaj of Houston welcomes all members of the Modh Gandhi community living in Houston and the Greater Houston area — including families, professionals, and youth. If you trace your roots to the Modh Gandhi (Modh Vanik) community from Gujarat, India, you are welcome to join us.

What events does GSOH organise?
GSOH organises a wide variety of events throughout the year including: Diwali Dinner celebrations, Maa Modheshwari Havan ceremonies, Navratri & Garba nights, community picnics, family social gatherings, youth networking events, and annual general meetings. Who is Maa Modheshwari Devi?
Maa Modheshwari (also known as Matangi Devi) is the patron deity of the Modh Gandhi community. Her main temple is located in Modhera, Gujarat, India — the historic town from which our community takes its name. GSOH organises annual havans and religious ceremonies in her honour.

How can I volunteer or get involved?
We welcome volunteers of all ages and skill sets! Visit our
